FAQs
Is it possible to obtain DIN for two companies?
DIN is individual specific and is valid for lifetime, there is no need to get separate DINs for two companies.
When is DIN application rejected?
You are required to expand the name in application even if the ID proof has the name in abbreviated form. Any mismatch in Name, including spelling mistake, may lead to rejection of the application. Minor spelling differences in the father’s name may be accepted, if such differences do not materially impact the name. Prefixes like Mr. / Ms. / Kumari / Shri etc. used in the applicant’s name. If the residence proofs like Bank Statements, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, Utility bills etc are older than 2 months of submitting the application for verification or if such documents are in the name of some other person then it will be rejected. The documents are required to be latest.
Is it possible for a foreigner or NRI to become the director of a company?
Yes, a foreigner or NRI can become the director of a company in India, but it is possible in the situation where one director of the company is resident Indian.
Is it mandatory for foreign director to provide PAN Card?
No, in case of foreign director, the PAN card is not required. They need to submit passport, as the mandatory document for DIN. PAN card is a mandatory document for a resident director.
